Tamiya 14029 is an extremely detailed 1/12 scale model of the legendary Suzuki RG250 Gamma motorcycle. This kit stands out as a "Full Options" edition , meaning you get extra parts in the box so you can choose whether you want to build it as a standard street bike or as a raw racing version.
About the original motorcycle
Launched in 1983, the Suzuki RG250 was essentially a scaled-down, registerable version of Suzuki’s 500cc bike that won the 1982 World Road Racing Championship. This was a true track bike for the road. It featured advanced mechanics taken directly from the racing bike, including a double-cradle frame and swingarm cast from lightweight aluminium alloy. It also featured an innovative “anti-dive” system on the front fork and a floating rear suspension. The liquid-cooled 247cc two-stroke, twin-cylinder engine produced a whopping 45 horsepower, giving the lightweight bike a raw acceleration from 0 to 400 metres in just 13 seconds.
Two building options in one box
The model comes with extra fairing parts and equipment that allow you to customize the bike to your liking:
- Standard street bike: Built with a half fairing, passenger seat (tandem) and the usual side stand.
- Racing version: Built with a full racing fairing under the engine, single seat fairing and the iconic "Gamma" depot support for the rear wheel.

- Wiring and Tires: Vinyl hoses are included to recreate authentic brake hoses, spark plug wires and cables. Tires are genuine synthetic rubber with correct tread pattern.
- Transparent parts: Lights and indicators are delivered in pre-colored, clear plastic (orange and red) for the best possible realism.
