AK Xtreme Metal

The AK Interactive Xtreme Metal series is one of the best in metallic paints. They are all lacquer-based with small pigment sizes, making them well suited for scale models. They are well suited for staining, but do not tolerate all types of staining fluids, so test out or use pigment-based staining.

Xtreme Metal paints are designed for airbrushing and require a dedicated cleaner, Xtreme Cleaner. Other cleaners should not be used. Xtreme Metal paints can be mixed together as this can cause clumps!

To get even more metallic shine, apply a couple of coats of the very thin AK Interactive Black Base primer. Other black and glossy primers also give the same effect. AK894 Intermediate Gauzy Agent Shine Enhancer can be used as a varnish over Xtreme Metal, without losing much of the metallic shine, but it is best to test it out to make sure the result is as you want.
